perhaps regret means looking back on life (in general, or a specific moment) with a broken heart because you failed to do the very thing your heart told you to do. sometimes our hearts tell us things, and too often we ignore it or tell it "not now!" and then suddenly it's too late.
it seems like it should be too easy to avoid regret. but life is funny that way...the simplest in theory are the most difficult in practice.
