on seeking by faith

i just really, really liked this. mostly because i think we limit ourselves when we forget our divine heritage.

"we are agents blessed with moral agency and are defined by our divine heritage as children of God -- and not by sexual behaviors, contemporary attitudes, or secular philosophies." - elder bednar, april 2013

i believe in thinking deeply about things. i believe in seeking truth (from as many sources as we can find because we should not close our minds or hearts to goodness all around us). i believe in love and tolerance and understanding. i believe in seeking to understand things/people.

and i also believe in walking by faith.

because what it really boils down to is that we are children of God. literally. and that, my friends, is seriously cool. he gets us in a very perfect, pure, beautiful, complete way. and not just us individually...but also Truth in its entirety. and so when we decide to take His hand in complete trust/faith/hope, He will help us understand the truths that we need to get back to Him. and sometimes (a lot of times) we feel very broken/miserable/confused/lost/dark, but it's been my experience that we cannot heal ourselves. which is why we need a Savior. He's real and His way works. i feel like going about life in any other way would be selling ourselves short of a lot of goodness now and in the long run.

seeking is good and necessary. but we must not let go of our faith in the meantime.
